I spent 4 clear hours on a journey that ought to have taken me not more than 30minutes from the Church ie Winners Chapel, Canaan Land, Ota.
The express road from Sango to Ikeja needs urgent repairs and reconstruction. I left the Church at 1:15pm and didn’t get back home until 5:15pm – exactly 4hours on a route that shouldn’t have taken me 30minutes.

What has the agency responsible for federal road maintenance been doing in the last two years ? Is the Federal Ministry of Works alive at all ?
Have they not been collecting the monthly dues for road maintenance ever since ? What happened to the monthly road maintenance allocations to FERMA in the last two years ? Who is the State Director of FERMA in Lagos State and in Ogun State ? What has he got to say on the deplorable state of roads along Sango – Ikeja expressway ? Is there any record of FERMA’s activities on the website ?
Do we continue to suffer in the midst of plenty ? Do we continue to suffer for the ineptitudes of those at the helm of affairs ? For how long must we wait to enjoy the real dividends of democracy ?

It is an eyesore to every road user along the aforementioned axis that FERMA and MINISTRY OF WORKS are deeply asleep. FERMA ie Federal Road Maintenance Agency and the Federal Ministry of Works should wake up from slumber

It is my considered opinion that the people at the helm of affairs of FERMA in Lagos and Ogun States should be shown the way out with immediate effect if they cannot commence effective and tangible repairs of the Sango – Ikeja axis of Abeokuta – Ikeja expressway within the next seven days. A lot of manpower is being wasted everyday on this route. We cannot allow this to continue unabated. The Managing Director as well as the State Directors of FERMA should be called to give accounts of their stewardship respectively. The projects executed by FERMA in the last two years should be clearly published for public scrutiny. We need to know. We demand to know.

We should know how our collective funds are being spent by those in power. Nigerian roads must be of international standard. We have the resources. We have the manpower. We need a change from the old ways. We need a change from ‘talk and no action‘. We need responsible and responsive actions on our national demands. We need good roads in NigeriaWe need good roads in Nigeria. And I say we need good roads in Nigeria.

 God bless Nigeria !
